Alan Kelly – Former Republic of Ireland Goalkeeper and Republic of Ireland Goalkeeping Coach
A well known and well respected sports personality, Alan; along with his father (Alan Snr.) before him is a former Preston North End and Republic of Ireland International goalkeeper. A native of Preston, England; he was born into a footballing family and both he and his older brother Gary followed in their fathers footsteps and became professional goalkeepers.
Alan enjoyed a long and successful football career representing clubs such as Sheffield United, Blackburn Rovers, Stockport County and Birmingham City as well as his hometown club Preston North End.
Alan has worked, in conjunction with JGA Sports Agency, on many projects including the Dublin Docklands Regeneration Programme and countless after dinner speaker events.

Alan’s international career saw him become a popular figure among the Republic of Ireland squad from 1993 to 2002. Although spending much of his time as second choice, he amassed a total of 34 caps and travelled to two world cups in 1994 and 2002.

So much so was his presence valued among the squad, Alan was recruited as the Republic of Ireland goalkeeping coach and formed an important part of Giovanni Trappattoni’s backroom staff.
A natural people person and dedicated professional, Alan also makes regular appearances as an after dinner speaker; captivating audiences up and down the country by recounting memories of his experiences throughout his illustrious career in football.
As well as his work within the Republic of Ireland setup, Alan also holds the role of goalkeeping coach at Preston North End FC, working with their First Team as well as the academy within their Centre of Excellence.
