Mark, who hails from Hollywood, Northern Ireland is an “awe-inspiring” adventurer, broadcaster, author and professional speaker who has overcome incredible adversity to make his mark on the world.
As a blind adventurer Mark has competed in ultra endurance races across deserts, mountains, and the polar ice caps including being the first blind person to race to the South Pole In 2010 Mark was left paralysed after falling from a second story window. Since then he has begun exploring the frontiers of spinal cord injury recovery and is the world’s leading test pilot of Ekso Bionics robotic legs.
Now, with his vast catalogue of experience, Mark helps people and organisations achieve more than they thought possible. Mark, his experience and insight, acts as a high-impact catalyst pushing people to achieve their potential and deliver a world-class performance.
Mark has extensive experience as a motivational speaker in both a business and after dinner context. He counts Google, RedBull, Mars and Cannon among those he has worked with. He has been the subject of two acclaimed documentaries - Unbreakable, and Blind Man Walking - and is co-Founder of the global running series called Run in the Dark (www.runinthedark.org).
Mark has featured on CNBC International as well as the World Economic Forum and TEDx. Mark is actively working to interact with and connect people from all around the world to help fast-track a cure for spinal paralysis through the Mark Pollock Trust (www.markpollocktrust.org).

Awards & Accolades
Mark’s incredible personal achievements have been recognised and rewarded on the world stage. As an athlete and adventurer he has completed some of the most enduring challenges including:
- Round Ireland yacht race
- The South Pole Race
- The Deadsea ultra (lowest marathon)
- The Everest marathon (highest marathon)
- Iron man Switzerland
He also won silver and bronze medals for rowing at the Commonwealth Games.
In addition to his sporting success Mark has been awarded honorary doctorates by The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and also from Queens University Belfast. And, he holds a diploma in Global Leadership and Public Policy for the 21st Century from Harvard University, degrees from Trinity College Dublin and The Smurfit Business School.
