The Golden Generation
During his career, ‘The Bomber’ was the linchpin of the all-conquering Kerry side of the 1980’s. His impressive list of County achievements include seven All-Ireland Senior Football Championships (1978, ’79, ’80, ’81, ’84, ’85, ‘86), eight Munster Senior Football Championships (1978, ’79, ’80, ’81, ’82, ’84, ’85, ‘86) and two National Football League’s (1982, ‘84). He has also represented the Munster provincial side on their way to success in two Railway’s Cups (1981, ’82).
Success at club level was not as frequent; however, Eoin did help his divisional side Shannon Rangers to victory in the 1977 Kerry Senior Football Championship.
Having retired form playing in 1993, he later took the step into management and led club side Kerins O’Rahilly’s to the Kerry Senior Football Championship in 2002. Eoin was also part of the Irish Compromise Rules series in 2006 and 2008, serving under Sean Boylan as one of his selectors.
Eoin is currently involved in running his own sportswear business, Liston Leisure Sportswear, and has also recently become a patron for Muscular Dystrophy Ireland in order to raise awareness of the disease.
